About Your Marble Top:

Steve Silver marble top tables are made of MDF with a layer of real marble veneer on top. Marble veneer is a thin piece of marble stone attached to the MDF. A solid marble top would be too heavy so the MDF cuts down on the weight of the table and the price. MDF is used over solid wood because solid wood has a tendency to warp over time, while the MDF will ensure the marble stays very flat through the life of the table. Like any real marble, you should refrain from placing hot items on the top as it can cause discolouration.
