I love a good sectional sofa; unfortunately, I don't have room for one at the moment. I'm always looking out for a good value in a sectional. We've had the Vancouver Sectional Sofa in our store for a while. It's a great seller and I decided to try it out for myself. I never quite knew what chenille fabric was like. I found it's a lot like corduroy only the weave is larger. It's soft but not in the same way that microfiber is. Ultimately, it's not my favourite fabric but it's still quite comfortable. I can't tell for sure but it seems as though it would be somewhat easy to keep clean. The only worry I have in that respect is dust or dirt particles getting stuck in the weave. I noticed when I first sat down that the bottom cushion movement was slightly awkward. The bottom cushions are attached to the frame by a small piece of Velcro. That's to keep them in place. I'm honestly not sure if that makes much of a difference. Most couches I've owned have had built in cushions. The bottom cushions are firm but not hard making sitting and lying on the couch pretty comfortable. In my experience, a couch like this will stay pretty firm throughout use, though obviously, the cushions eventually wear down. The back cushions and throw pillows are slightly less firm and still very comfortable. The back cushions are not attached and can be moved very easily. When I was lying down on the couch, I found that the depth of the seat felt slightly narrow. It could be the placement of the cushions, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to just sleep on this couch without feeling like you may fall off. That's not a deal breaker of course, but a consideration (I prefer the seats to be deep for this reason). It's important to note that this sectional is sold in pieces and have to be attached with small metal fasteners to keep the sectional pieces from moving around your floor when you sit down. A lot of sectionals are built this way to save on costs as shipping a fully assembled sectional is expensive. It's hard to tell what true colors are in the available pictures. Some seem lighter because of the lighting in the room and others are much darker. The Vancouver sectional is a dark brownish green to me. It's not the best color for my living room color palette but the comfort level of this sectional makes me care less about the color of the fabric. The bottom cushion on the chaise seems slightly less firm because there is more surface area. Depending on how someone sits or lays on the chaise, it felts like the chaise cushion may wear down faster than the rest of the couch. One thing I always look for in a couch or sectional is support at the back. Most people set their sofas against a wall so it doesn't matter, but having foam or a wood back is always better for a sofa. If your sectional isn't up against a wall and you have kids, they can't crash into the back of your couch and make a gaping hole! The arms have a slight rounded curved look which is a more traditional style than I tend to go for. I'm also not a fan of the accent fabric on the throw pillows because I tend to go for a more contemporary or modern look. Overall, however, I think this sectional is a great find, buy, and value. It may not be my first choice but I would be happy with it in my home. It's comfortable and good quality from what I can tell.
