Sleeping well on a shift work schedule

Whether you work rotating shifts at the mine, the hospital or on the highway, daytime sleep is lighter and easier to interrupt. Memory foam and pocket coil mattresses both limit motion, so a partner getting into bed at a different hour is less likely to wake you. Foam is also completely silent, with no springs to creak when you shift position.

Mattresses for rental suites and guest rooms

If you rent out a suite in Merritt or keep a guest room ready, an affordable mattress that holds up to frequent use makes sense. The 6 Inch Tranquility and 8 Inch Serenity offer bamboo covered memory foam at the lowest prices in the lineup. Add a waterproof bamboo mattress protector, from under $80, to keep it clean between occupants.

What sets Rest Therapy mattresses apart?

Every Rest Therapy mattress has a soft, breathable bamboo fabric cover. Cool gel models add gel infused memory foam designed to draw heat away from the body, and pocket coil and hybrid models use individually wrapped coils that respond to each part of the body separately.

Merritt Mattress FAQ

What is a bamboo mattress?

A bamboo mattress has a cover made from fabric derived from bamboo, not a core filled with bamboo. Bamboo fabric feels soft and breathes well, which helps the sleeping surface feel fresh. Inside, a Rest Therapy bamboo mattress uses memory foam, pocket coils or both.

What is a hybrid mattress?

A hybrid mattress combines a pocket coil support core with comfort layers of memory foam on top. It aims to blend the bounce and airflow of coils with the pressure relief of foam. The Rest Therapy 12 Inch Bliss and 14 Inch Euphoria are hybrids.

How long does it take to get used to a new mattress?

Most people adjust within two to four weeks, especially when moving from an old, sagging mattress to a supportive new one. That is why comfort exchanges usually require at least 30 nights of use first.

How should I care for a new mattress?

Rotate it head to foot every three to six months so it wears evenly, use a mattress protector to guard against spills and moisture, and keep it on a solid or properly slatted base. Avoid sitting on the same edge every day, which can compress one area faster.
