I was amazed at how sturdy this bunk bed was. When I gave it a wiggle, and it barely moved an inch. Standing on the ladder as a 200lbs adult, it still felt very safe and sturdy. The ladder is removable with hooks that go over the rail. The attention to detail on this bed is phenomenal as even the metal ladder hooks have a protective foam layer on the inside as to not damage the wood on the rail. I like the finish on the wood. It has a nice lustre to it that I think will help not show as much dust, and is suitable for a boy or a girl. There is surprising value in the storage drawers that go underneath the bunk bed. At first I thought the wood on the bottom of the drawer would rub against the carpet, but I was surprised to see there are small, plastic casters on the bottom that allow the drawers to glide fairly smoothly. I would not advise using the storage drawers on a very shaggy carpet. All in all, I would recommend this bunk bed to anyone with little ones as the quality of craftsmanship is definitely there. -

The Fraser Bunk Bed comes with two under-bed
storage drawers (a $200 value!). The space under the bottom
bunk is only 6". Most trundles with mattresses will not fit.

This bunk bed comes with a label stating,
"ensure [mattress] thickness does not exceed 6" and the
mattress is at least 5" below the upper surface of the
guardrails." The rails for this bed are 13.5" high, which
means any mattress 8.5" thick or less can be used safely on
the upper bunk of the bed. |

This bunk bed is constructed with
Rubberwood. Rubberwood is a hardwood from the maple
family of woods and is an ideal choice for furniture
manufacturing because of its durability and tendency to
resist shrinking, warping or cracking. After its 26-30 years
of latex production, the trees are felled and new ones are
planted. So, unlike other woods that are cut down for the
sole purpose of producing furniture, rubberwood is used only
after it completes its latex producing cycle and dies,
making it eco-friendly! |

What are the weight limits of the top
and bottom bunk?

The top bunk bed can support a maximum
weight of 180lbs, while the bottom bunk can support up to
250lbs.

Safety Suggestions:
Do not allow children less than six years of age to use the upper bunk.
Prohibit more than one person on upper bunk.
Do not allow horseplay on or under the bed and prohibit jumping in the bed.
Always use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk.
Always use the guardrail for both long sides of the upper bunk.
Use of the nightlight may provide added safety precaution for a child using the upper bunk.
Always use the recommended size mattress or mattress support to help prevent the likelihood of entrapment or falls.
Never attach or hang items to any part of the bed that are not designed to use with the bed (hooks, belts, jump ropes, etc.).
Follow the information on the warning attached to the upper bunk end structure and on the carton. Do not remove the label.
